— <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> • kip�F.HA... <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 210 25 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO CHANGEMAKERS <br /> COMMUNITY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION TO SUPPORT <br /> LOKAHI COWORKS EMPOWERING RURAL SMALL BUSINESSES PROGRAM. <br /> WHEREAS, ChangeMakers Community Economic Development Corporation, DBA <br /> ChangeMarkers Hawai`i is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization whose mission is to champion <br /> economic equity and justice by promoting economic development that engages communities, <br /> creates access to financial resources, and supports passionate professionals; and <br /> WHEREAS, ChangeMakers Hawai`i offers programs that help empower people to <br /> create economic stability and build generational wealth, create and nurture businesses through <br /> workforce development programs, and partner with local,national, and international <br /> organizations to address community needs; and <br /> WHEREAS, ChangeMakers Hawai`i is partnering with Lokahi CoWorks for its <br /> Empowering Rural Small Businesses Program; and <br /> WHEREAS,Lokahi CoWorks is hosting a 6-month program to support 30 rural small <br /> business owners across Puna and its surrounding rural communities; and <br /> WHEREAS, ChangeMakers Hawai`i is requesting funds to defray the cost of contracted <br /> services,workshop services, guest speaker fees, and administration services; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Department of Research and Development supports the development of <br /> a local economy that is diverse, stable, and in balance with Hawai`i's ecology, community <br /> character, and cultural heritage; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment,materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Research and Development to provide a grant to ChangeMakers Hawai`i to support Lokahi <br /> CoWorks Empowering Rural Small Businesses Program. <br />
