No. 208-25 <br />PLACE: Council Chambers <br />Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br />TIME: 11:34 a.m. <br />Council Chair and Members <br />Hawaii County Council <br />Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br />Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 208-25, reports as follows: <br />Resolution No. 208-25, transmitted by Finance Director Diane Nakagawa via Communication <br />No. 325, dated May 15, 2025, authorizes the payment of funds of later fiscal years to enter into a <br />multi -year lease agreement for three fire apparatuses to be used by the Hawaii Fire Department. <br />This resolution authorizes the Mayor to enter into a five-year lease agreement with an approximate total <br />monthly cost of $92,693.10, to replace units at Haihai, Kealakekua, and Makalei Fire Stations. <br />Assistant Fire Chief Darwin Okinana was present in Chambers. <br />Committee Chair Matt Kaneali`i-Kleinfelder asked the age of the three apparatuses being replaced. <br />Mr. Okinaka confirmed the apparatuses at Kealakekua and Makdkei Fire Stations are 18 and 19 years <br />old, and the Haihai apparatus is 13 years old.
