In 2,000 characters or less, describe the project
Ku'ikahi Mediation Center's "Finding Solutions, Growing Peace" Brown Bag Lunch Series was launched in July 2015 in conjunction with the County of Hawarl Office of the
Prosecuting Attorney, where we hosted in -person brown bag talks for five years. In 2020, due to the COVID pandemic, the talks moved online via Zoom. Since Its
inception 10 years ago, this free community education series has featured 120 talks with 3,782 participants attending in person or on Zoom. Unexpected benefits of
shifting to Zoom for the past five years are: '1) tapping Into presenter expertise from the entire state (and beyond), 2) reaching audiences all over Hawarl County (and
beyond), and 3) recording the talks so an equal number of people now watch them afterwards who are unable to attend live during the talk. Our "Finding Solutions,
Growing Peace" Brown Bag Lunch Series hosts talks on Third Thursdays from 12 noon to 1 pm via Zoom. The series is free and open to the public. Attendees are
encouraged to enjoy an Informal and educational talk -story session and connect with others interested in "Finding Solutions, Growing Peace." This lunch-and-leam series
has been made possible'ln the past thanks in part to funding from the County of HawaPi and Hawari Island United Way. For FY 2025=2026, Ku9kahi did not receive a
Waiwai grant to support our educational programming (we did receive a Walwai grant to support our mediation programming). Mahalo nui loa for your kind
consideration.
*52.501(c)(3) Mission Statement
OUR MISSION: We empower people to come together —to talk and to listen, to explore options, and to find their own best solutions. According to CPP Global Human Capital Report 2008:.1) Employees In U.S.
companies spend approximately 2.8 hours per week dealing with conflict, equating to -$359 billion in paid hours in 2008 instead of focused on positive productivity. 2)
57% of U.S. employees had never received training In how to manage workplace conflict Of those globally who did receive training, 95% stated that it helped them in
some way, and 85% of people changed the way they approach conflict over the course of their working lives. ThaYs why K&Ikahi offers high -quality, locally available, community education on topics like listening, communication, conflict
management, mediation, negotiation, teamwork, and more.
