REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE ON <br />GOVERNMENTAL OPERATIONS AND EXTERNAL AFFAIRS <br />DATE: July 22, 2025 <br />PLACE: Council Chambers <br />Kailua-Kona, Hawaii <br />TIME: 10:35 a.m. <br />Council Chair and Members <br />Hawaii County Council <br />Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br />Re: Comm. No. 394 <br />Your Committee on Governmental Operations and External Affairs, to which was referred Communication <br />No. 394, reports as follows: <br />Communication No. 394, transmitted by Managing Director William V. Brilhante, Jr., dated July 3, 2025, requests <br />the Council's review and confirmation of the nomination of Bambi Lau to the South Kohala Community <br />Development Plan Action Committee. <br />Executive Assistant to the Mayor Micah Alameda was present in the Kona Chambers to introduce <br />Ms. Lau, who was also present in the Kona Chambers, to the Committee. <br />Committee Member James Hustace asked Ms. Lau to share her priorities for the area and community. Ms. Lau said <br />homes are a priority for community members and bringing down the cost of living.
