COUNTY OF HAWAI`I <br />STATE OF HAWAI`I <br />RESOLUTION NO. 278 25 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE LIONS CLUB OF <br />KONA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION, INC., TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES FOR THE <br />39TH ANNUAL HAWAI`I KUPUNA HULA FESTIVAL. <br />WHEREAS, the Lions Club of Kona Community Foundation, Inc., (LCKCFI) is a <br />501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to develop and provide community service <br />projects and activities that meet the needs of the community; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation, Elderly Activities Division, is <br />working in partnership with LCKCFI to host its 39th Annual Hawaii Kupuna Hula Festival, <br />which will be held September 10-11, 2025, at the Outrigger Kona Resort and Spa; and <br />WHEREAS, LCKCFI is requesting funds for expenses such as judging services, lei, <br />photography services, a resource coordinator, ticket printing and distribution, and emcee <br />services, which will serve a public purpose by benefiting, improving, or promoting the interests <br />of culture and the arts, as well as the public health and welfare of the people and the <br />environment; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that, in <br />accordance with section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as <br />amended), Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 are hereby transferred to the <br />Department of Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to the Lions Club of Kona Community <br />Foundation, Inc., for the expenses and purposes identified in "Exhibit A," a copy of which is <br />attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, in the following amount as set forth below: <br />FUND: General <br />AMOUNT OF <br />APPROPRIATION: $5,000 <br />OUT AND FROM: <br />010.101.5101.91 Clerk -Council SVC — Contingency Relief $5,000 <br />CREDITED TO: <br />010.500.5503.02 Department of Parks and Recreation $5,000 <br />P&R Admin OCE <br />115 Misc.
