In 2,000 characters or less, describe the project <br />Now in its 65th year, the Waimea Twilight Christmas Parade is the second oldest parade in the State of Hawaii and a cherished tradition in the North Hawaii community. <br />Held annually on the first Saturday of December, this long-standing event brings members of the community together to express their gratitude, sense of joy, and <br />appreciation during the holiday season. The parade marks the official start of the holidays in Waimea and provides a safe, festive, and family -friendly environment for <br />residents and visitors alike. It is made possible through the dedication of a committed group of volunteers and the generous support of local sponsors. More than just a <br />parade, the event embodies the spirit of community, celebrates shared values, and reinforces the cultural continuity that makes Waimea unique. <br />*53.501(c)(3) Mission Statement <br />Support education, health care, and activities that foster a sense of place, belonging, and community cohesion rooted in the diverse and unique culture of Waimea. <br />*54. Many of the board members are parade <br />volunteers. <br />*55. In 2,000 characters or less, describe the measurable outcomes you aim bo achieve with these funds. <br />The goal is always to provide a fun and safe event We work hard to make sure that the public Is aware of the road closures, and that traffic doesn't back up too badly. <br />We have rules that help keep everyone safe, and plenty of volunteers to keep tabs on everything. The police help keep the roads safe, and the road closures to have <br />minimum affect. <br />*58.
