In 2,000 characters or less, describe the project <br />The Hawari Island All Nations Powwow is a community event that brings together the diverse cultures of our host local culture, Native Hawaiians, Native American <br />Nations, and the broader local community to celebrate both our diversity and unity. Held at the Puna Hongwanji in Kea'au, the Powwow promotes cultural pride and <br />offers meaningful cross-cultural experiences for all who attend. <br />*44.501(c)(3) Mission Statement <br />Strengthen our communities through the cooperative development of programs and services for east Hawari, and to promote quality programs for youth and families <br />*45. In 1,000 characters or less, explain how the 501(c)(3) Is connected to the project <br />Grassroots Community Development Group (GCDG) has been providing and supporting Native Hawaiian and Native American cultural projects since 2009 when its Kea'au <br />Youth Business Center hosted a cultural exchange between local youth and Native American tribal youth from Canada and the U.S. continent. GCDG has also been the <br />fiscal sponsor for the Annual Hawaii Island All -Nations Powwow event since 2022. This will be Its 4th year as fiscal sponsor. <br />*46. Please upload a completed CRF Grant Budget Form. <br />2025-07-26 CD3 GCDG Budoet.xlsx <br />Public Purpose of Requested Funds <br />Per §2-138 of the Hawari County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as amended), the County may grant an award only if the proposed program or service provides direct public <br />benefits and fulfills a public purpose within the County. <br />47. According to §2-136, "public purpose" is defined as a benefit to, improvement of, or promotion of the interests in the following areas. Please select all the public benefits <br />to be derived from your County fund request: <br />Culture and the arts <br />Educational concerns <br />Public health and welfare of the people and the environment <br />*48. In 2,000 characters or less, describe the measurable outcomes you aim to achieve with these funds. <br />1) Assist approximately 100 Native American singers, dancers and tribal practitioners to participate in a cultural exchange Powwow; 2) Host approximately 1500 <br />community members and visitors in a cultural event that celebrates Native American culture; 3) Engage at least two local schools in learning about Native American <br />culture for mainland tribal members. <br />*49.
