In 2,000 characters or less, describe the project <br />Each year on Veterans Day,'0 Kau Kakou (OKK) hosts a free community lunch to honor those who served, continue to serve, as well as those who gave the ultimate <br />sacrifice. This year's celebration will be held on Tuesday, November 11 at the OKK Market Grounds in Na alehu. The event brings together local Veterans and their'ohana <br />to recognize their service through a shared meal, entertainment, and community connection. Since 2018, OKK's Veterans Day Celebration has expanded to include live <br />entertainment by local performers who volunteer their time, informational booths, and a public tribute to all who have served, those currently serving, and those who <br />made the ultimate sacrifice. The event is open to the public and free for all Veterans and their families. <br />*50. 501(c)(3) Mission Statement <br />Sponsor and support community activities in the district of Kau that enhance the quality of life for keiki, kupuna, and businesses <br />*51. In 1,000 characters or less, explain how the 501(c)(3) is connected to the project. <br />O Kau Kakou, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, organizes and implements the event each year through its dedicated team of community volunteers. Volunteers plan the event, <br />purchase supplies, prepare and serve food, set up and clean up, and help coordinate entertainment and information booths. The organization leverages donations, in - <br />kind support; and volunteer labor to deliver a high -quality, respectful, and meaningful experience for Veterans and their loved ones. <br />*52. According to §2-136, "public purpose" is defined as a benefit to, improvement of, or promotion of the interests in the following areas.
