COUNTY OF HAWAI`I STATE OF HAWAI`I RESOLUTION NO. 293 25 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO USA VOLLEYBALL, INC., FOR ITS 2025 HAWAI`I ISLAND LABOR DAY CLASSIC VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT. WHEREAS, USA Volleyball, Inc. (UVI), doing business as Moku O Keawe, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that, on the local level, develops, standardizes, and coordinates volleyball activities while focusing on the development of players, coaches, and officials, and aims to provide an opportunity for members to participate, improve their volleyball skills, and compete in a competitive, safe, and healthy environment in the sport of volleyball; and WHEREAS, UVI is requesting funds for food and serving supplies for its ice cream social as part of its Hawaii Island Labor Day Classic Volleyball Tournament, which will serve a public purpose by benefiting, improving, or promoting the interests and needs of the poor, youth, aged, and those with physical or emotional disabilities; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that, in accordance with section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as amended), Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 are hereby transferred to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to USA Volleyball, Inc., for the expenses and purposes identified in "Exhibit A," a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, in the following amount as set forth below: FUND: General AMOUNT OF APPROPRIATION: $2,000 OUT AND FROM: 1010-11-10191 Clerk -Council SVC — Contingency Relief $2,000 1010-21-25139 Department of Liquor Control $2,000 Public Programs 530115 Misc.
