COUNTY OF HAWAI`I <br />STATE OF HAWAI`I <br />RESOLUTION NO. 299 25 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO USA VOLLEYBALL, <br />INC., FOR ITS 2025 HAWAI`I ISLAND LABOR DAY CLASSIC VOLLEYBALL <br />TOURNAMENT. <br />WHEREAS, USA Volleyball, Inc. (UVI), doing business as Moku O Keawe, is a <br />501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, whose mission is to: 1) develop, standardize, and coordinate <br />volleyball activities on the local level, 2) develop players, coaches, and officials on the local <br />level, 3) provide opportunities for members to participate and improve their volleyball skills in a <br />competitive, safe, and healthy environment, and 4) stimulate participation and growth at all <br />levels of play; and <br />WHEREAS, UVI is requesting funds for lodging for qualified interisland and out-of- <br />state volleyball officials participating in 139 matches held across tournament sites, ensuring safe, <br />professional officiating that supports youth athletic development and community engagement, <br />which will serve a public purpose by benefiting, improving, or promoting the interests and needs <br />of the poor, youth, the aged, those with physical or emotional disabilities; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that, in <br />accordance with section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as <br />amended), Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 are hereby transferred to the <br />Department of Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to UVI for the expenses and purposes <br />identified in "Exhibit A," a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by <br />reference, in the following amount as set forth below: <br />FUND: General <br />AMOUNT OF <br />APPROPRIATION: $3,000 <br />OUT AND FROM: <br />010.101.5101.91 Clerk -Council SVC — Contingency Relief $3,000 <br />CREDITED TO: <br />010.500.5503.02 Department of Parks and Recreation $3,000 <br />P&R Admin OCE <br />115 Misc. Contract Services <br />(UVI — 2025 Hawaii Island Labor Day Classic <br />Volleyball Tournament) <br />
