Morifuji of Council District 1 to the Liquor Commission. <br />Aloha Council Chair Inaba and Council Members, <br />I am pleased to nominate Mr. Steve A. Morifuji to the Liquor Commission representing Council <br />District 1. Born and raised on Hawaii Island, Mr. Morifuji's deep connection and understanding <br />of the area make him an excellent candidate. <br />A proud 1972 graduate of Honoka`a High School, Steve earned a Bachelor of Science in <br />Horticulture from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 1977. His diverse professional <br />experience includes significant roles in small business, corporate, and government sectors. <br />Notably, he served as the Administrative Officer for Licensing and Enforcement for the <br />Department of Liquor Control from the mid-2000s until his retirement in 2016. <br />Additionally, Mr. Morifuji has been an active member of our community, serving in the Hamakua <br />Lions Club for over 35 years, showcasing his commitment to service. Mr. Morifuji would be a <br />great asset to the Liquor Commission, bringing expertise and a genuine dedication to our island <br />community. <br />If confirmed, Mr. Morifuji will serve a term to end on December 31, 2029.
