A 2025 Community Development Block Grant totaling $197,500 has been awarded for cesspool conversion and related renovation improvements. These improvements are necessary to meet EPA mandated requirements for cesspool closure, while sustaining safe, affordable and accessible independent living opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities. The proposed improvements include, but are not limited to, planning and design of an EPA mandated cesspool closure and conversion to a septic wastewater system, replacing flooring, renovating the kitchen and ADA bathroom, and other construction and related costs, such as permits and advertising.
