No. 455/Res. No. 284-25 <br />Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 284-25, reports as follows: <br />Resolution No. 284-25, transmitted by Prosecuting Attorney Kelden Waltjen via Communication <br />No. 455, dated August 12, 2025, authorizes the payment of funds of later fiscal years to enter a <br />multi -year agreement for ethernet computer network services to be used by the Office of the <br />Prosecuting Attorney. <br />This resolution authorizes the Mayor to enter into a three-year agreement with an estimated cost of <br />$49,200 per year for wide area network services that would allow the department to network and share <br />data and resources between its four locations. <br />Office of the Prosecuting Attorney Business Administrator Grant Nagata was available for questions. <br />Acting Committee Chair James Hustace questioned the difference between this vast area network and <br />the other systems we have in the County, and requested insight into why this is necessary. <br />Mr. Nagata stated that this service is required due to data the Prosecuting Attorney's Office needs and <br />what kind of data storage is essential, as Federal Bureau of Investigations standards require it. <br />Committee Member Ashley L. Kierkiewicz stated that the Police Department has a similar network <br />demand, as it needs to store evidence and sensitive data at all times.
