COUNTY OF HAWAPI <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />STATE OF HAWAPI <br />31-9 25 <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF LATER FISCAL <br />YEARS TO ENTER INTO A LEASE AGREEMENT FOR TWO MULTIFUNCTION <br />COPY MACHINES TO BE USED BY THE OFFICE OF THE PROSECUTING <br />ATTORNEY. <br />WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the Charter of the County of Hawaii (hereinafter "the <br />Charter") provides, in part, that "any contract, lease or other obligation requiring the payment of <br />funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more than one fiscal year shall be made <br />or approved by resolution"; and <br />WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney (hereinafter "the Office") wishes to <br />enter into a lease agreement with a term of five years for two multifunction copy machines; and <br />WHEREAS, the Office estimates the annual cost of this lease agreement to be $6,500 for <br />each machine; and <br />WHEREAS, the two multifunction copy machines will be used to replace existing <br />machines currently utilized in Hilo and Kona, for which the leases will lapse at the end of <br />November 2025 and March 2026, respectively; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that the <br />Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a lease agreement with a term of five years for the <br />purposes hereinabove described. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, in accordance with Section 10-11 of the Charter, <br />sufficient funds be budgeted in later fiscal years to cover the anticipated obligations of the <br />County under the terms of the lease agreement. <br />
