In 2,000 characters or less, describe the project. <br />The He Ala Pono Electric Vehicle and Sustainability Fair is an annual event that celebrates clean transportation, sustainable <br />energy, and resilience on Hawaii Island. Held in conjunction with National Drive Electric Month, a nationwide celebration <br />that raises awareness of the many benefits of all -electric and plug-in hybrid cars, trucks, motorcycles, and other electric <br />vehicles, this event will take place at Prince Kuhi6 Plaza on September 27, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The fair is free <br />and open to the public, offering a great opportunity to learn how to contribute to a more sustainable future. It will feature <br />up to 18 organizations providing information about their programs and initiatives, with activities designed to engage both <br />youth and adults. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about topics such as energy, transportation (including electric <br />vehicles), agriculture, food security, disaster preparedness, green homes, and green infrastructure loans. Electric vehicle <br />owners will also be invited to share their experiences and stories, providing the public with firsthand insights into the <br />benefits of electric vehicles and sustainable practices. <br />* 53.501(c)(3) Mission Statement <br />Enable an economic, social, and overall environmental revival for Hawaii through a just transition to 100% clean, locally <br />sourced, renewable energy. <br />* 54. In 1,000 characters or less, explain how the 501(c)(3) is connected to the project. <br />Sustainable Energy Hawaii is working in partnership with the Big Island Electric Vehicle Association to coordinate the 2025 <br />He Ala Pono Electric Vehicle and Sustainability Fair. In addition to applying for this grant, Sustainable Energy Hawaii is <br />assisting with marketing and organizing the event. It will also participate directly in the fair, hosting a booth and sharing <br />information about clean energy initiatives. <br />* 55. Please upload a completed CRF Grant Budget Form. <br />CRF Budget HE ALA PONO 2025.xlsx <br />Public Purpose of Requested Funds <br />Per §2-138 of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as amended), the County may grant an award only if the <br />proposed program or service provides direct public benefits and fulfills a public purpose within the County. <br />56. According to §2-136, "public purpose" is defined as a benefit to, improvement of, or promotion of the <br />interests in the following areas.
