COUNTY OF HAWAI`I <br />STATE OF HAWAI`I <br />ORDINANCE NO. 25 66 <br />BILL NO. 60 <br />(DRAFT 4) <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 25, ARTICLE 1, ARTICLE 2, ARTICLE 4 <br />ARTICLE 5, AND ARTICLE 7 OF THE HAWAI`I COUNTY CODE 1983 (2016 <br />EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING TO ZONING DISTRICT REGULATIONS FOR <br />MEETING FACILITIES, CHURCHES, TEMPLES, SYNAGOGUES, AND <br />COMMUNITY BUILDINGS. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I: <br />SECTION 1. Purpose. The purpose of this ordinance is to provide further clarification <br />to the definition and requirements for meeting facilities, and to remove references to churches, <br />temples, synagogues, and community buildings. <br />SECTION 2. Chapter 25, article 1, section 25-1-5, subsection (b) of the Hawaii County <br />Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as amended) is amended by repealing the definition for "community <br />building": <br />SECTION 3. Chapter 25, article 1, section 25-1-5, subsection (b) of the Hawaii County <br />Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as amended) is amended by adding a new definition to be <br />appropriately inserted and to read as follows: <br />""Special event" means a planned gathering or activity, typically requiring an <br />invitation, registration, or ticket purchase, that exceeds the customary use of the property, <br />including but not limited to commercial weddings and receptions, promotional functions, <br />commercial concerts, and other large-scale or revenue -generating assemblies." <br />SECTION 4. Chapter 25, article 1, section 25-1-5, subsection (b) of the Hawaii County <br />Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as amended) is amended by amending the definition for "meeting <br />facility" to read as follows: <br />
