<br />The First Annual Hawaii Youth Arts Festival is a free, community -centered celebration of creativity and culture designed to
<br />uplift and inspire the youth of Hawai&'i Island. Presented by F'lava Rock Breakers,, Big Island Dance Council, and Hawaii
<br />Youth Arts Association, the festival will take place on October 18., 2025, at the County Butler Building and parking lot. This
<br />full -day event will feature live solo performances,, youth band sets., and DJs spinning throughout the day, alongside hula
<br />performances highlighting traditional arts. Inter -island b-boy dancers will join Hawaii Island's youth for breaking
<br />competitions,, cypher battles, and workshops, building meaningful connections across islands. In addition to performances,
<br />the festival offers hands-on engagement: workshops in turntablism., beatboxing., graffiti art, and breakdancing; community
<br />art exhibitions; and cultural storytelling. Food and craft vendors will showcase local talent and flavors., ensuring the festival
<br />reflects and supports the community it serves. The event was envisioned by younger Board members of the Big Island
<br />Dance Council to provide youth with opportunities to express themselves,, celebrate culture,, and develop positive outlets
<br />for creativity. By engaging keiki, teens, families, and the wider community,
<br />the festival promotes culture and the arts.,
<br />educational enrichment, and healthy youth development in a fun, vibrant environment that can grow into an annual
<br />tradition.

<br />The Big Island Dance Council (BIDQ., celebrating its 50th Anniversary,
<br />has offered a wide slate of events throughout the
<br />year., including workshops and performances across multiple dance genres. This milestone reflects its longstanding mission
<br />to foster and promote quality dance and movement education for the Hawaii Island community. The Hawaii Youth Arts
<br />Festival extends this commitment by broadening the scope beyond dance to include music, hula, visual arts, and DJ
<br />culture. Envisioned by BIDC"s younger Board members, the project highlights the organization's dedication to nurturing
<br />creativity and cultural expression among children and teenagers, ensuring that youth have meaningful opportunities to
<br />participate in the arts.
