COUNTY OF HAWAI`I <br />STATE OF HAWAI`I <br />RESOLUTION NO. 364 25 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO ALANUI `0 KA`U FOR <br />ITS 2ND ANNUAL KA`U WELLNESS FESTIVAL. <br />WHEREAS, Alanui `O Ka`u is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that serves Hawaii <br />Island by fostering an appreciation of the history of Ka`u, improving the economic vitality <br />through community -based projects, planning and education, and serving the needs of the <br />community through enrichment programs and projects that promote well-being, health, safety, <br />art, and culture; and <br />WHEREAS, Alanui `O Ka`u is hosting its 2nd Annual Ka`u Wellness Festival on April <br />41 2026, at the Ocean View Community Center to provide an opportunity for attendees to learn <br />about various health and wellness resources and to connect with industry professionals such as <br />doctors, therapists, nutritionists, yoga instructors, mental health specialists, and energy <br />practitioners; and <br />WHEREAS, Alanui `O Ka`u is requesting funds to help cover the costs of venue and <br />tent rental fees, speaker and volunteer stipends, designing and printing of the festival's program <br />guide, printing of flyers and banners, and facilitation and administrative fees, which will serve a <br />public purpose by benefiting, improving, or promoting culture and the arts, educational concerns, <br />and the public health and welfare of the people and the environment; now, therefore, <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports our local community <br />organizations that focus on health and wellness through alcohol -free and drug -free events; and <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that, in <br />accordance with section 2-13 9(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as <br />amended), Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 are hereby transferred to the <br />Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to Alanui `O Ka`u for the expenses and <br />purposes identified in "Exhibit A," a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by <br />reference, in the following amount as set forth below: <br />
