COUNTY OF HAWAI`I <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />STATE OF HAWAI'I <br />37S 25 <br />A RESOLUTION CREATING ONE HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST II POSITION <br />FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES. <br />WHEREAS, Section 5-1.3(c) of the Charter of the County of Hawaii (hereinafter "the <br />Charter") provides, in part, that the Mayor has the power to "[c]reate positions... for which <br />appropriations have been made by the council..."; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Human Resources is in need of one new Human <br />Resources Specialist II position in the Department's Classification and Pay Division; and <br />WHEREAS, this position will provide additional support to critical departmental and <br />County -wide operations, including maintaining the County's position classification plan; <br />researching information to support the Salary Commission; updating, routing, and amending the <br />Salary Ordinance; gathering and submitting data for salary surveys; reviewing organizational <br />charts, employment contracts, classification packets, classification actions, classification <br />maintenance, and position descriptions; providing assistance and guidance to departmental <br />Human Resources (hereinafter "HR") representatives; corresponding with the various public <br />sector unions; training new departmental HR representatives; responding to requests for <br />information from other jurisdictions; creating new classes of work; and working on other special <br />projects; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that, <br />pursuant to Section 5-1.3 of the Charter, one Human Resources Specialist II position be created <br />for the Department of Human Resources. <br />
