Hamakua Health Center, Inc., is excited to announce that they will be hosting this year's Breast Cancer Awareness "Paniola in Palaka" event in Waimea on Friday, October 17, 2025, at the Waimea District Park Gym from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. This free community event will combine important health education with a fun and engaging atmosphere. Guests can access complimentary health screenings, including glucose testing, blood pressure checks, and BMI assessments —all aimed at promoting proactive wellness. Health experts will also be on hand to provide valuable information, including women's health resources, dental information, and more. The evening will also feature a variety of activities to entertain attendees, such as lively dance performances, creative painting stations, and bead -making. Guests will also have the opportunity to browse a diverse selection of retail and craft vendors offering unique goods, creating a vibrant marketplace. With 1 in every 8 women diagnosed with breast cancer, Hamakua Health Center, Inc., emphasizes the importance of early detection and self -care. The organization reminds wahine in our communities that caring for others begins with caring for ourselves. This event promises an evening of education, entertainment, and community connection, providing valuable health resources and joyful activities. *43. 501(c)(3) Mission Statement Provide quality healthcare that is responsive to our patients' and communities' needs. *44. Hamakua Health Center, Inc., is connected to this project as we are made up of four community health centers, in which we encourage and recommend all of our patients and community members to get their annual wellness exams. This project is an opportunity to encourage the community to get their wellness exams to get screened for cancers, including breast cancer, colorectal cancer, prostate cancer, and other illnesses and diseases that can be prevented through early detection at the time of their annual exam. *45.
