COUNTY OF HAWAPI w STATE OF HAWAPI <br />•� a;:w,Y <br />RESOLUTION NO. 400 25 <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF LATER FISCAL <br />YEARS TO ENTER INTO A MULTI -YEAR LEASE AGREEMENT FOR MAILING <br />SYSTEM EQUIPMENT TO BE USED BY THE OFFICE OF THE COUNTY CLERK. <br />WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the Charter of the County of Hawaii (hereinafter "the <br />Charter") provides, in part, that "any contract, lease or other obligation requiring the payment of <br />funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more than one fiscal year shall be made <br />or approved by resolution'; and <br />WHEREAS, the Office of the County Clerk (hereinafter "the Office") wishes to enter <br />into a multi -year lease agreement, with a term of five years, for new mailing system equipment; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the Office estimates the annual cost of this agreement to be $10,000; and <br />WHEREAS, this equipment will be utilized in Hilo by staff in the Office's Support <br />Services division to process and handle all mailing requests from various County departments <br />and agencies; and <br />WHEREAS, the lease agreement for the existing equipment that is currently utilized <br />expired on June 29, 2025, making the acquisition of new equipment essential to maintain <br />efficient and timely mailing operations and support for the entire County; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that the <br />Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a multi -year lease agreement, with a term of five years, <br />for the purposes hereinabove described. <br />
