Mom( os:;p <br />COUNTY OF HAWAPI <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />STATE OF HAWAPI <br />405 25 <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN <br />INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF HAWAI`I, <br />DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH, TO RECEIVE A GRANT FOR FOOD ACCESS <br />SUMMITS. <br />WHEREAS, Section 46-7 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes requires the consent of the <br />Council in order for the County to enter into an agreement with the federal government or any <br />other public body respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the powers granted to the <br />County by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other assistance in connection with <br />projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers; and <br />WHEREAS, the State of Hawaii, Department of Health, has authorized $40,000 in <br />federally derived funds to be provided to the County as a grant for the County's Food Access <br />Summits; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Research and Development wishes to enter into an <br />agreement with the State of Hawaii, Department of Health, to receive these grant funds; and <br />WHEREAS, funds from this grant will be used to plan and facilitate two Food Access <br />Summits and one review meeting, and to purchase venues, food, beverages, and supplies; and <br />WHEREAS, the Food Access Summits will take place in the fall seasons of 2025 and <br />2026; and <br />WHEREAS, these summits will be used to collect data, support community <br />collaboration, and showcase successful projects to cultivate a more inclusive and resilient food <br />and agriculture system for the County; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAPI that, <br />pursuant to Section 46-7 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes, the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter <br />into an agreement with the State of Hawaii, Department of Health, for the purposes hereinabove <br />described. <br />
