COUNTY OF HAWAI`I STATE OF HAWAI`I <br />1l�Oi.N':,1 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 434 25 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HANA LAULIMA <br />LAHUI O KA`C INC. FOR ITS 10TH ANNUAL PRINCE KCHIO DAY HO`OLAULE`A. <br />WHEREAS, Hana Laulima Lahui O Ka`n Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization <br />whose mission is to support the development of a new economic base for the district of Ka`u that <br />will enhance economic growth, and promote a secure economic future for the community and the <br />children of Ka`u, while preserving the rich Native Hawaiian cultural heritage and love for the <br />`aina; and <br />WHEREAS, Hana Laulima Lahui O Ka`u Inc. is coordinating the 1 Oth Annual Prince <br />Kuhio Day Ho`olaule`a, which will be held March 28, 2026, at Nd'alehu Ball Park, and is a free <br />event open to the public that will include live music, hula performances, Hawaiian arts, crafts, <br />games, workshops, demonstrations, cultural exhibits, and a historical presentation to honor the <br />legacy of Prince Jonah Kdhio Kalaniana`ole; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports organizational events and <br />public programs that enrich the lives of community members through activities that promote <br />compliance with liquor laws; and <br />WHEREAS, Hana Laulima Lahui O Ka`n Inc. is requesting funding assistance to cover <br />the cost of sound system equipment rental for the event, which will serve a public purpose by <br />benefiting, improving, or promoting the public health and welfare of the people and the <br />environment, educational concerns, and the interests of culture and the arts of our island; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that, in <br />accordance with section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as <br />amended), Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 are hereby transferred to the <br />Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to Hana Laulima Lahui O Ka`n Inc. for the <br />expenses and purposes identified in "Exhibit A," a copy of which is attached hereto and <br />incorporated herein by reference, in the following amount as set forth below: <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br />transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
