49. According to §2-136, "public purpose" is defined as a benefit to, improvement of, or promotion of the <br />interests in the following areas. Please select all the public benefits to be derived from your County fund <br />request: <br />Culture and the arts <br />Needs of the poor, youth, the aged, those with physical or emotional disabilities <br />Public health and welfare of the people and the environment <br />50. In 2,000 characters or less, describe the measurable outcomes you aim to achieve with these <br />funds. <br />'Aina Stewardship: With these funds, the organization aims to reopen a 10-foot-wide and 1-mile-long public access <br />easement and clear an 800-foot public trail to connect to the shoreline. This includes the acquisition of 1 critical <br />machine for long-term maintenance and the sustainability of this project. The organization will also contract a <br />brushcutter for approximately 20 hours of work to assist with trail clearing and maintenance. Community <br />Outreach/Advocacy: The organization will engage 20 families in its Aloha'Aina days at Kukuilaumania, increasing <br />awareness of environmental stewardship and building pilina (deeper connections) with the wahi.'Aina Access <br />Agreements: A perpetual maintenance agreement plan with Hank Correa. As the owner of the property along the <br />shoreline trail, he is responsible for maintaining this. The organization aims to return it to a manageable condition so it <br />can continue upkeep and remain walkable and mowable. <br />
