COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />STATE OF HAWAI`I <br />RESOLUTION NO. 438 25 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO THE HAWAI`I POLICE DEPARTMENT TO <br />ASSIST WITH EXPENSES FOR THE HAWAI`I ISLE POLICE ACTIVITIES LEAGUE <br />3 ON 3 BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT. <br />WHEREAS, the Hawaii Isle Police Activities League (HI -PAL) is a community youth <br />program under the Hawaii Police Department that provides positive activities for keiki that <br />teach moral and social values, such as sportsmanship, fair play, respect for authority, self- <br />discipline, and the benefits of hard work, all while having fun; and <br />WHEREAS, the HI -PAL program is requesting funds for referees, timers, and <br />scorekeepers for its 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament to be held at the Old Kona Airport State <br />Recreation Area on January 24-25, 2026, which will serve a public purpose by facilitating <br />sportsmanship, benevolence, friendship, sociability, goodwill, and tolerance; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that <br />Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Hawaii Police <br />Department to assist with expenses for the Hawaii Isle Police Activities League 3 on 3 <br />Basketball Tournament. <br />FUND: General <br />AMOUNT OF <br />APPROPRIATION: $2,000 <br />OUT AND FROM: <br />1010-11-10191 Clerk -Council SVC — Contingency Relief <br />$2,000 <br />1010-21-21562 Hawaii Police Department $2,000 <br />HI PAL OCE <br />530115 Misc.
