Salavea of Council District 5 to the Police Commission. <br />Aloha Council Chair Inaba and Council Members, <br />I am honored to nominate Mr. Allen A. Salavea to the Police Commission representing Council <br />District 5. Raised on O'ahu in Kahalu'u and currently residing in Volcano, Mr. Salavea brings a <br />deep-rooted understanding of the unique challenges to this role. <br />A proud graduate of Castle High School, Mr. Salavea chose to pursue his higher education here <br />in Hilo at Hawai'i Community College and the University of Hawaii at Hilo, earning both an <br />associate and a bachelor's degree, as well as a professional certificate in environmental <br />management. His strong academic foundation, combined with extensive professional <br />experience with the County of Hawai'i and Kamehameha Schools, has equipped him with a <br />comprehensive understanding of community needs and governance. <br />Mr. Salavea's experience as a planner allows him to approach challenges and opportunities <br />with a thoughtful perspective, ensuring that the community's voice is heard and prioritized. His <br />dedication to making a positive impact on our island makes him a strong value -add. <br />If confirmed, Mr. Salavea will fill a seat left vacant by the resignation of Mr. Arthur.
