COUNTY OF HAWAVI STATE OF HAWAVI <br />60;F <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE <br />TO NEGOTIATE THE DISPOSITION OF REAL PROPERTY IDENTIFIED AS TAX <br />MAP KEY NO. 7-4-010:044 BY LEASE TO HOPE SERVICES HAWAPI, INC., FOR <br />HOMELESS ASSISTANCE PURPOSES. <br />WHEREAS, Section 2-120(a)(3) of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as <br />amended) (hereinafter, the "Code") provides that the Council may, by resolution, direct the <br />Director of Finance to negotiate the disposition of real property by leasing it to governments, <br />governmental agencies, nonprofit organizations, or affordable housing developers at such rentals <br />and on such terms and conditions as deemed proper; and <br />WHEREAS, the Office of Housing and Community Development (hereinafter, <br />"OHCD") owns the property located at 74-5593 Pawai Place, Kailua-Kona, identified as Tax <br />Map Key No. 7-4-010:044 (hereinafter, "the Property"); and <br />WHEREAS, OHCD wishes to enter into a lease agreement for the Property with HOPE <br />Services Hawaii, Inc., a nonprofit organization; and <br />WHEREAS, the Property was previously leased under Resolution No. 445-22, Draft 2, <br />for the purpose of providing services to homeless individuals; and <br />WHEREAS, the Property will continue to serve as an emergency homeless shelter and <br />one -stop resource center for the homeless population; and <br />WHEREAS, the annual rent for this lease will be $ 10; and <br />WHEREAS, the proposed initial lease term is from February 1, 2026, or the soonest <br />thereafter, through January 31, 2027, with one one-year option to renew; and <br />WHEREAS, the lease of the Property is required to provide crucial homeless services <br />and emergency shelter to the West Hawaii community; now, therefore <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI'I that, in <br />accordance with Section 2-120 of the Code, the Director of Finance is hereby authorized and <br />
