operational standards to ensure parks remain safe, clean, and functional so that users can <br />perform physical activities and experience social connection. <br />(g) Recreation planning should align with land use and growth. The planning department <br />shall coordinate with the department of parks and recreation to align park and facility <br />planning with residential growth patterns and land use designations. <br />(h) Coordinate with other jurisdictions where recreational lands overlap. The department <br />of parks and recreation shall work with State and federal agencies when recreational <br />facilities or lands involve shared or overlapping responsibilities. <br />(i) Balance routine maintenance needs with capital improvements. The department of <br />parks and recreation shall plan and budget for routine maintenance, repairs, and lifecycle <br />needs to ensure parks and facilities remain safe and accessible over time. <br />34 <br />
