Contingency Relief Funds will support instruction in vegetable growing, hydroponics, poultry care, basic sewing, ceramics, cooking concepts, and creative building using available and upcycled materials, Keiki will also engage in physical activity and teamwork through organized recreational sports, promoting healthy lifestyles and overall well-being. Learning activities will take place in a supervised classroom and outdoor setting at Papaikou Hongwanji Mission and will incorporate educational technology to enhance instruction. This year, the club's goal is to host an overnighter that prepares participants for a culminating camping trip at Spencer Park at'Ohai'ula Beach, where keiki will apply the skills they have learned in planning meals, organizing supplies, working collaboratively, and practicing outdoor education skills, U " t Papaikou Hongwanji Mission is a subordinate organization of the Honpa Hongwanji Mission of Hawaii, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, umbrella organization for over 30 Jojo Shinshu temples in Hawai'i, whose mission is to share the living teachings of Jodo Shinshu Buddhism so that all beings may enjoy lives of harmony, peace, and gratitude.
