Required training to help businesses conform to an anticipated mandatory <br />compliance rule regarding the Coconut Rhinoceros Beetle from the Hawaii <br />Department of Agriculture and Biosecurity; and <br />5. Two staff members to work directly on research, outreach, education, and <br />implementation of control measures with island ranchers affected by the Two -Lined <br />Spittlebug;and <br />WHEREAS, R&D recommends approval of this grant award to support critical invasive <br />species efforts; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that, <br />pursuant to Section.46-7 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes, the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter <br />into an agreement with the University of Hawaii, Big Island Invasive Species Committee, for <br />the purposes hereinabove described. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, in accordance with Section 2-139 of the Code, the <br />grant award in the amount and for the purposes hereinabove described is hereby approved. <br />BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution <br />to the Honorable C.
