COUNTY OF HAWAI`I STATE OF HAWAI`I RESOLUTION NO. 532 26 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO D.A.R.E. HAWAI`I TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES RELATING TO ITS 2026 D.A.R.E. DAY CELEBRATION IN EAST HAWAI`I. WHEREAS, Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) Hawaii is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that teaches our youth to make safe and responsible decisions, to resist alcohol, drugs, tobacco, and violence, to avoid risky situations, and to lead a safe and healthy life; and WHEREAS, D.A.R.E. Hawaii is requesting funds for expenses related to the 2026 East Hawaii D.A.R.E. Day, including pizzas for students who completed the 10-week D.A.R.E. curriculum, which will serve a public purpose by benefiting, improving, or promoting culture and the arts, educational concerns, public health and welfare of the people and the environment, victims of health or social crises, and the needs of the poor, youth, the aged, and those with physical or emotional disabilities; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that, in accordance with section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as amended), Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 are hereby transferred to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to D.A.R.E. Hawaii for the expenses and purposes identified -in "Exhibit A," a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, in the following amount as set forth below: FUND: General AMOUNT OF APPROPRIATION: $2,000 OUT AND FROM: 1010-11-10191 Clerk -Council SVC — Contingency Relief $2,000 CREDITED TO: 1010-21-25139 Department of Liquor Control $2,000 Public Programs 530115 Misc. Contract Services (D.A.R.E. Hawaii — 2026 D.A.R.E. Day Celebration)
