COUNTY OF HAWAI`I STATE OF HAWAI`I <br />TO"MAY <br />RESOLUTION NO. 560 26 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HAWAI`I <br />INTERNATIONAL SCIENCE EXPERIENCE TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES FOR THE <br />2026 HISE PROGRAM. <br />WHEREAS, Hawaii International Science Experience is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit <br />organization committed to helping youth embrace the challenges of an interconnected world by <br />providing opportunities to broaden their perspective of the world, foster relationships, and <br />cultivate leadership skills; and <br />WHEREAS, Hawaii International Science Experience is requesting funds to assist with <br />expenses for transportation for students and staff to access workshops and field sites, ensuring <br />participation in STEM and cultural learning, which will serve a public purpose by benefiting, <br />improving, or promoting the interests of culture and the arts and educational concerns; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that, in <br />accordance with section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as <br />amended), Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 are hereby transferred to the <br />Department of Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to Hawaii International Science <br />Experience for the expenses and purposes identified in "Exhibit A," a copy of which is attached <br />hereto and incorporated herein by reference, in the following amount as set forth below: <br />FUND: General <br />AMOUNT OF <br />APPROPRIATION: $6,000 <br />OUT AND FROM: <br />1010-11-10191 Clerk -Council SVC — Contingency Relief <br />Cy�7�1)MY�I�C�� <br />1010-51-50302 Department of Parks and Recreation <br />P&R Admin OCE <br />530115 Misc.
