SG2 26 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO D.A.R.E. HAWAI`I TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES RELATING TO THE 2026 D.A.R.E. DAY CELEBRATION IN EAST HAWAI`I. WHEREAS, D.A.R.E. Hawaii is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that teaches our youth to make safe and responsible decisions, to resist alcohol, drugs, tobacco, and violence, to avoid risky situations, and to lead a safe and healthy life; and WHEREAS, D.A.R.E. Hawaii is requesting funds for expenses related to its 2026 D.A.R.E. Day Celebration in East Hawaii for an inflatable water slide rental, which will serve a public purpose by benefiting, improving, or promoting culture and arts, educational concerns, needs of the poor, youth, the aged, those with physical or emotional disabilities, public health and welfare of the people and the environment, and victims of health or social crises; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI°I that, in accordance with section 2-139(4)(2)(C) of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as amended), Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 are hereby transferred to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to D.A.R.E. Hawaii for the expenses and purposes identified in "Exhibit A," a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, in the following amount as set forth below: FUND: General AMOUNT OF APPROPRIATION: $1,722 OUT AND FROM: 1010-11-10191 Clerk-CouncilSVC— Contingency Relief $1,722 CREDITED TO: 1010-21-25139 Department of Liquor Control $1,722 Public Programs 530115 Misc.
