JpSY os N <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAI`I <br />OF <br />RESOLUTION NO. 564 26 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO D.A.R.E. HAWAI°I <br />FOR THE 2026 D.A.R.E. DAY CELEBRATION IN WEST HAWAI`I. <br />WHEREAS, D.A.R.E. Hawaii is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to <br />supporting the law enforcement officers and military police in the State of Hawaii with <br />materials and incentives for conducting classes annually to elementary, middle, and high school <br />students, with the purpose of teaching our keiki to make safe and responsible decisions to resist <br />alcohol, drugs, tobacco, violence, and other risky situations to lead a safe and healthy life; and <br />WHEREAS, D.A.R.E. Hawaii is requesting funds to assist with expenses for snacks for <br />its 2026 D.A.R.E. Day Celebration in West Hawaii, which will serve a public purpose by <br />benefiting, improving, or promoting the interests of culture and the arts, educational concerns, <br />the needs of the poor, youth, the aged, those with physical or emotional disabilities, the public <br />health and welfare of the people and the environment, and victims of health or social crises; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that, in <br />accordance with section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as <br />amended), Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 are hereby transferred to the <br />Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to D.A.R.E. Hawaii for the expenses and <br />purposes identified in "Exhibit A," a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by <br />reference, in the following amount as set forth below: <br />FUND: General <br />AMOUNT OF <br />APPROPRIATION: $1,500 <br />OUT AND FROM: <br />1010-11-10191 Clerk-CouncilSVC— Contingency Relief $1,500 <br />CREDITED TO: <br />1010-21-25139 Department of Liquor Control $1,500 <br />Public Programs <br />530115 Misc. Contract Services <br />(D.A.R.E. Hawaii — 2026 D.A.R.E. Day <br />Celebration in West Hawaii) <br />
