In 2,000 characters or less, describe the project. <br />IKL, Inc. (International Karate League), established in 1962 by Shihan Walter Nishioka, is the oldest existing karate <br />school originating from Honolulu, with dojos across the United States and members worldwide. International Karate <br />League Kamuela operates as a subordinate organization of IKL, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The Kamuela <br />Dojo implements IKL, Incas established youth karate instruction, which supports personal development by building <br />self-discipline, confidence, and respect, and encourages positive behavior through structured martial arts training. The <br />requested funding will support facility usage costs at the Kamuela Dojo, ensuring continued access to a consistent <br />training space for youth programming that promotes community well-being. IKL, Inc., emphasizes karate as a lifelong <br />discipline that builds interpersonal skills, respect, self-control, and the ability to resolve conflict peacefully. Students are <br />trained in discipline, focus, and personal responsibility, with a strong emphasis on non -violence and conflict de- <br />escalation. Following the passing of Sensei Richard Nakano, Yamamoto Sensei and supporting instructors lead <br />instruction at the Kamuela Dojo, upholding the organization's continuity and core values. As a volunteer -run nonprofit, <br />IKL, Inc., champions the development of better citizens through karate and guides youth toward constructive avenues <br />for personal growth and community engagement. <br />* 35. 5O1(c)(3) Mission Statement <br />Through honesty and sincerity comes faithfulness, respect, effort, and etiquette. <br />* 36.
