Fax (808) 935-6460 <br /> HAZARD MITIGATION PROJEC'T' NOMINATION <br /> <br /> <br /> PROJECT TITLE: Upgrade Hawaii County Microwave Radio Repeater Sites <br /> <br /> PROJECT DESCRIPTION: <br /> <br /> Eight (8` Microwave Radio Repeater Sites (Public Safety ,Building, Central Fire Station, <br /> Kulani Cone, Naalehu, South Point, Ohia Mill, Captain Cook and Huehue) need to have <br /> their multiplex equipment upgraded. These sites are major links in the Hawaii County <br /> emerYency radio communication system. Agencies serviced include police, fire, civil <br /> defense, public works and parks. <br /> <br /> WORK ELEMENTS (SCOPE OF WORK): <br /> <br /> • Removal of obsolete Collins roux <br /> • Installation of new channel cards <br /> • Replace batteries (auxiliary power) <br /> • Update microw;we(radio equipment shelters to meet RS56 Quality Standards - insiali <br /> air conditioners where needed. <br /> <br /> ESTIMATED PROJECT COST: <br /> <br /> Cost to ntect minimum upgrade requirements for the eight repeaters is estimated to be <br /> appruximat: ly S 140,000.00. Amounts of funds available will determine how many of the <br /> repeaters will be upgraded.
