The State's poor economic condition and <br /> cut backs in public assistance programs have caused hardship for our non-profit service <br /> providers. Every program must face decreased revenue sources while confronting increased case <br /> loads and public need. The agencies we currently fund need more assistance, but at the same <br /> time, valuable new agencies and programs are also seeking funds to address those in need. In <br /> light of this difficult situation, the staff and I are working diligently to provide recommended <br /> funding amounts that are both sensitive and thoughtful. I will provide you with our suggested <br /> funding amounts as soon as they are complete. <br /> I have appreciated the Council's efforts and assistance during the non-profit site visits and public <br /> hearings.
