Throughout his tenure on <br /> the Board, he has been very supportive of our State Parks initiatives and an able advocate <br /> to implement our projects on the Big Island, including the many other types of projects that <br /> our department is responsible for. He is afair-minded person who has been willing to sit <br /> down with others to work on difficult solutions. The kinds of issues he has confronted as <br /> a Board member is not unlike the issues he will face as a Planning Director and his past <br /> Board experience can only enhance his understanding of diverse planning issues in order <br /> to make good decisions. <br /> I believe it is this kind of seasoned and caring perspective that he consistently showed is <br /> what he will bring to the county for the long term good of your county residents, off-island <br /> visitors and the welfare of the Big Island's important natural resources, sensitively balanced <br /> with sound developmental decisions to maintain a growing and healthy economy. <br /> Thank you for your consideration of my testimony in support of Mr. Christopher Yuen as <br /> your county's Planning Director. <br /> S ce 1 yours, <br /> TON H.
