SUMADA, Deputy Chief Engineer <br /> SUBJECT: PERMIT PROCEDURE FOR THE INSTALLATION OF PRIVATE <br /> WATERLINES WITHIN COUNTY STREETS <br /> <br /> The County of Hawaii does not have a workable permit procedure for the installation of private <br /> consumer waterlines within County right-of--ways This has resulted in unregulated, unauthonzed and <br /> illegal use of County property violating Chapter 2 of the Hawaii County Code The Department has been <br /> )ssuing 180 day conditional permits However, the short duration is unworkable as nearly 100% of the <br /> conditional permits issued have now expired and no one has renewed their permit <br /> To resolve this situation, we aze proposing the enclosed draft permit The County Council under Chapter <br /> 2, Section 2-119, will, by resolution, direct the Cluef Engineer to issue the penn)t. <br /> Please submit any comments or suggestions to Galen Kuba of the Department of Public Works, <br /> Engineering Division by November 15, 2000.
