We support economic development and support the need for additional business and~obs.
We recommend that the County Of Hawaii approve the Gateway Shopping Center

contingent upon its location in Keaau town or next to the Keaau ballpazk."
The vision of a large commercial area in Keaau offers more than three individually
approved centers competing against one another. One stronger commercial core has the
best potential of drawing customers from a lazger azea. A strong commercial core can
draw customers from Puna, Hilo, and Kau, thus has the potential of creating more fobs

than three smaller centers.
Sure Save supports W H. Slvpman's Gateway Shopping Center and supports a good road
to service Puna. Please build the shopping center in Keaau Town or next to the Keaau
ballpark so that we do not compromise the original intent of the bypass and also bnng
new business to Puna.

Thank you allowing the public to give input at this public hearing.
Very~ere~y yours,
M+r
Carl H Okuyama

Charon
