COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 33 Oi <br /> RESOLUTION CREATING A PERSONNEL PROGRAM SPECIALIST POSITION <br /> FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL SERVICE <br /> WHEREAS, the voters of Hawaii County approved the Hawaii County Charter amendments to <br /> repeal Section 5-6 2 Safety Coordinator and to include the employee safety and workers' <br /> <br /> compensation programs under the duties of the Director of Civil Service, and <br /> WHEREAS, by creating this Personnel Program Specialist position, the Department of Civil <br /> Service will oversee the workers' compensation and safety programs for the County and provide <br /> <br /> advice and assistance to the departments and agencies, and <br /> WHEREAS, the new Personnel Program Speaalist position will serve as the division head of <br /> <br /> the new Health and Safety Division for the Department of Civil Service, and <br /> WHEREAS, this position will also develop and implement programs and activities to reduce <br /> industrial accidents and to ensure compliance with occupational safety and health laws, and <br /> WHEREAS, Article V, Section 5-1 3(c) of the Hawaii County Charter states that the Mayor has <br /> <br /> the power to "Create positions for which appropriations have been made by the council " <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII <br /> that a Personnel Program Specialist, EM-03 position be created <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there are sufficient funds available in the County of Hawaii <br /> Department of Civil Service, Regular Salaries and Wages account (010-151-5151 01-011) <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be transmitted to the Departments <br /> of Finance and Civil Service <br /> <br />
