AUTHORITIES ~ <br /> Public Law 105-277, the U.S. Departments of Commerce and Justice, and State <br /> Related Agencies Appropriations Act of 1999. <br /> I <br /> III. PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE ' <br /> The period of performance for this initiative will be from the date of execution <br /> through March 23, 2003. <br /> IV. FUNDING USES AND RESTRICTIONS <br /> a A?rthrui~ed Purchases <br /> Funds fur llris program may be used to enhance the cepsbilitica of Stoto and <br /> local first responders through the acquisition of personal protective equipment; <br /> chemkal, biological, and radiological detection equipment; decontaminatlon <br /> equipment: >pnd communlcatinns equipment. These funds ore available only <br /> for first responders' basic defensive equipment. <br /> Funds may also be used to support broader domestic preparedness activities <br /> such as regional hazardous materials teams or other State first responder <br /> Initiativ6s. <br /> <br />
