2. Tsunami Hazard <br /> As the site is situated over 1/2 mile from the ocean, it is <br /> k <br /> located outside of the Civil Defense's Tsunami Evacuation <br /> Zone. Volcanic and Earthquake Hazards <br /> The United States Geological Survey (USGS) classifies the <br /> entire City of Hilo as being within Lava Flow Hazard Zone 3, <br /> on a scale of ascending risk, 9 to 1. Fauna Resources <br /> Although there was no professional survey conducted of the faunal <br /> resources of the site, the applicant does not believe that rare or <br /> endangered faunal resources are likely to be found within or <br /> ' proximate to the subject site The site is not only within a <br /> developed, urban, it is in fact fully developed <br /> ' Introduced bird species (such as dove, Japanese White eye, <br /> <br /> ~ house finch, myna) are common in this area. Domestic animals <br /> such as cats and dogs, and other animals like rats and mongoose <br /> are also common These are all common and not endangered. <br /> As such, it is unlikely that the development of the subject property <br /> would cause any adverse faunal impacts <br /> E. Flora Resources <br /> No commissioned flora survey was conducted of the site due in <br /> large measure to its past and current residential use <br /> In addition to the lawn, other plant material observed on the site <br /> were lychee, a vanety of citrus, and avocado trees Given its past <br /> 6 <br /> <br />
