COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 22 01 <br /> Draft 3 <br /> RESOLUTION CREATING A CLERK II POSITION FOR THE OFFICE OF THE <br /> PROSECUTING ATTORNEY <br /> WHEREAS, the Federal Victims of Crime Act Grant previously provided for a counselor in the <br /> Kona's Victim Assistance Unit of the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney; and <br /> WHEREAS, the victim counselors in Kona are assigned cases for Kona, North Kohala, Kau <br /> <br /> and South Kohala misdemeanors and Hamakua Abuse of Family and Household cases; and <br /> WHEREAS, increased workload was generated as a result of the counselor; and <br /> WHEREAS, creation of a clerk position will alleviate some of the Legal Clerks' workload by <br /> <br /> taking on functions that ultimately benefit crime victims; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article V, Section 5-1.3(c) of the Hawaii County Charter states that the Mayor has <br /> <br /> the power to "Create positions...fortyhich appropriations have been made by the council...". <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII <br /> that a Clerk II, SR-8 position be created. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that funds are available through the Federal Victims of Crime <br /> Act Grant. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be transmitted to the Departments <br /> of Finance and Civil Service and to the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney. <br /> <br />
