The minutes of the January 17, 2001 HSAC Executive , <br /> Comrmttee meeting were approved, along with the HSAC Treasurer's Report dated Januazy <br /> 23, 2001 <br /> 2 Status of 2001 HSAC Lel¢slative Package The HSAC Executive Comrmttee received a <br /> status report on HSAC's 2001 legislative package prepared by Honolulu City & County staff <br /> Andrew Sekme As you well recall, the 2001 HSAC le~slahve package, approved by the <br /> Hawaii County Council in concurrence with the other three counties, consists of four items, <br /> as follows (1) Immunity from liability agaznst damages ansing from the operation of beach <br /> parks, (2) allowance for each county to select publication(s) m which to publish pubhc <br /> notices, (3) lumtmg the liability of counties for persons participating rn hazardous <br /> recreational activities, and (4) allocation of a share of pubhc sernce company tax revenues to <br /> the counties Presently, those bills proceeding in the legislature pursuant to HSAC's package <br /> are as follows <br /> • State and County Tort Lrabrlrty H B 280, S B 796 <br /> • Publication of Notice H B 382, S B 190 <br /> • Liriuted Lrabrlrty of Counties S B 793 <br /> • Public Service Company Tax H B 723, S B 1198 <br /> This Council and individual members are encouraged to submit testunony in support of these <br /> bills Both Chairman Arakalu and myself have submitted testimony in support of the pubhc <br /> sernce company tax bills On Febnrary 13, 2001 I submitted wntten testimony m support of <br /> S B 190, relating to publication of notices <br /> Kone Council Office 77-6399 Nalani Strcet • Suite IU4 • Kailua-Kona • Hawei i 1`Q{~'Ii1Q-8~, / ~0 <br /> 1!}le No. H 5 G - <br /> Ref.
