CITY COUNCIL <br /> CITY AND COUNTY OF HONOLULU 1~ <br /> <br /> 1. HONOLULU, HAWAII NO. <br /> RESOLUTION <br /> CONCERNING THE HAWAII STATE ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES' NOMINATIONS <br /> TO THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND <br /> WESTERN INTERSTATE REGION BOARD OF DIRECTORS. <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii State Association of Counties (HSAC) <br /> annually nominates two members to serve on the Board of Directors <br /> of the National Association of Counties (NACo); and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the nominees serves as HSAC's representative <br /> and the other, who must be from a minority ethnic group, serves <br /> in an at-large capacity; and <br /> WHEREAS, HSAC also annually nominates a member to serve on <br /> the Board of Directors of the Western Interstate Region (WIR); <br /> now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City and County of <br /> Honolulu that the following nominations to the NACo Board of <br /> Directors and WIR Board of Directors are approved: <br /> NACo Board of Directors <br /> HSAC Representative Ron Kouchi, Kauai Council Chair <br /> Minority At-Large Dennis Nakamura, Maui Councilmember <br /> WIR Board of Directors <br /> HSAC Representative Rene Mansho, Honolulu Councilmember <br /> and <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council's voting member in <br /> HSAC is authorized to vote accordingly at the annual general <br /> membership meeting; and <br /> OCS00334.R99 <br /> BED <br /> <br />
