<br /> . = CITY COUNCIL <br /> CITY AND COUNTY OF HONOLULU 0.1 <br /> i <br /> HONOLULU, HAWAII NO. <br /> RESOLUTION <br /> RELATING TO HSAC BYLAWS AMENDMENTS CONCERNING PROCEDURES FOR <br /> APPOINTING REPRESENTATIVES TO SERVE ON THE BOARDS OF DIRECTORS OF <br /> THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES AND THE WESTERN INTERSTATE <br /> REGION. <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii State Association of Counties (HSAC) <br /> annually nominates members to serve on the boards of directors of <br /> the National Association of Counties (NACo) and the Western <br /> Interstate Region (WIR); and <br /> WHEREAS, the Executive Committee of HSAC finds there is a <br /> need to amend HSAC bylaws to formalize procedures with respect to <br /> nominating members to serve on the boards of directors of NACo <br /> and WIR; and <br /> WHEREAS, amendments to HSAC bylaws require the unanimous <br /> approval of the county councils; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City and County of <br /> Honolulu that the bylaws of the Hawaii State Association of <br /> Counties are amended to add a new section to read as follows: <br /> ..Nn~., nnrn wTR nnnRrlC nF T~TR F.f TffRC aPPnTNTMF.NTR <br /> SECTION lBa. The President shall serve as HSAC's <br /> representative on the WIR Board of Directors. <br /> A member from each of the councils other than the council <br /> represented by the President shall be one of the three HSAC <br /> representatives on the NACo Board of Directors. The <br /> representatives shall be appointed in the same manner as HSAC <br /> officers." <br /> and <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the amendments to the HSAC <br /> bylaws shall take effect upon approval by the HSAC General <br /> Membership; and <br /> OCS00061.R01 <br /> <br />
