UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> A 2001 HSAC Legislative Package <br /> President Mansho noted that the PSC bill being supported by <br /> HSAC will be introduced by the State The bills on tort liability will <br /> be introduced by Senator Jonathan Chun and Representative Ezra <br /> Kanoho <br /> President Mansho requested that the counties provide her with <br /> copies of all testimonies submitted on HSAC legislative package <br /> items. <br /> Vice President Tyler noted that Hawaii County Mayor Harry Kim <br /> has included the four HSAC package items as part of Hawaii <br /> County's package <br /> Your Committee agreed that the City and County of Honolulu will <br /> shepherd the public notification bill through the legislative process. <br /> Kauai County will take the lead on the beach liability bill and Maui <br /> County will head the efforts in support of the hazardous recreation <br /> bill <br /> Vice President Tyler noted that legislation allowing privatization by <br /> the counties will sunset this year President Mansho noted that the <br /> four counties are not in agreement on this matter as Maui County's <br /> Mayor has taken the position that Maui County is seeking to <br /> eliminate privatization and will work with the unions President <br /> Mansho indicated that there might be a compromise position that <br /> the four counties could agree to pursue at the Legislature regarding <br /> this issue <br /> Councilmember Hokama mentioned that HSAC may wish to <br /> consider pursuing the counties' ability to subpoena employees in <br /> <br />
