COUNTY OF HAWA`I~ u,~~, ~'~'ATE OF HAWAII <br /> , <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2~ O1 <br /> (Draft 2) <br /> A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING MARCH AS NATIONAL WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH <br /> WHEREAS, March 2001 is the thirteenth annual National Women's History Month; and <br /> WHEREAS, the theme of this year's National Women's History Month is "Celebrating Women <br /> of Cotrrege and Vision"; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Committee on the Status of Women is sponsoring a "Real <br /> Women" Creative Writing Competition for students islandwide in grades 5 through 12; and <br /> WHEREAS, the essay contest increases awareness of the many different ways that women made <br /> history in Hawaii and fosters pride in the outstanding accomplishments of women in Hawaii. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF <br /> HAWAII that is recognizes March as National Women's History Month and acknowledges the courage <br /> and countless contributions of women who made history throughout the United States and especially on <br /> the Island of Hawaii. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii is instructed to transmit <br /> copies of this resolution to Mrs. Laurine K.
