6 <br /> ORGANIZATION/AGENCY INFORMATION <br /> A. Board of Directors: <br /> 1. The Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii has an <br /> annual three (3) hour board orientation. The mission, <br /> responsibility of board membership, and new issues as they pertain <br /> to policy matters are presented. In addition to this, the Board <br /> undertakes an organizational review and strategic planning process <br /> in a three-year cycle. <br /> 2. The primary roles of the executive director are: <br /> ¦ Carries out the mission of the organization within the <br /> policy guidelines as set forth by the board of directors. <br /> ¦ Manages the staff and build community ties. <br /> ¦ Assists the board in fund raising activities. <br /> ¦ Maintains a quality program with a budget as approved by <br /> the Board. <br /> 3. The primary roles of the Board of Directors are: <br /> • Sets policy for the organization. <br /> • Ensures fiscal integrity of the organization. <br /> • Guides the organization through a strategic planning <br /> process <br /> <br /> B. Past Performance: <br /> 1 The proposed Outcomes intended for this proposal are to: <br /> • Provide high risk youth the opportunity to achieve <br /> proficiency in basic educational disciplines. <br /> • Help high risk youth sustain positive relationships with <br /> others. <br /> • Prevent or reduce continued involvement with risky <br /> behaviors. <br /> • Strengthen and sustain positive family relationships. <br /> 2. The proposed Performance targets intended for this proposal are• <br /> ¦ 75% of youth will increase their competencies and <br /> knowledge in effective decision-making and conflrct <br /> resolution. <br /> <br />
